DRAGON RALLY 2024 was held on Saturday the 10th of February 2024.

Conwy Motorcycle Club Ltd would like to thank everybody who attended and supported the event.

We were blessed with a dry sunny day on the Saturday for a change, having had weeks of heavy rain leading up to the event.

We also thank our members for all their help and hard work, St Johns Ambulance, Sion and Rich on the food vans, our two bands and the staff who ran the bar.

We also thank the land owner for allowing us to hold the event at the Faenol Estate near Bangor.

It's also great to see an increase of followers on our Dragon Rally (Conwy Motorcycle Club) Facebook page.

Time to start preparing for next year for us !!

The Dragon Rally.

The Dragon Rally is a great Welsh Rally held in the bitter depths of winter. It's where the enthusiasts go to talk shop, indulge in nostalgia, tell stories of their two-wheeled exploits and make new like-minded friends.

Conwy Motorcycle Club Ltd started the Dragon Rally in 1962 and it takes place in winter in beautiful North Wales and serves as a meeting place for motorcyclists from all over the Continent.

Participants are limited to 1200 and they're not told the location of the rally site until they have reported to the rally checkpoint. Once at the site, they can pitch their tent, obtain their goody bag and badge, then enjoy a hot soup with a roll and get to know other rallyists. There is also hot food available to purchase on the site. The evening fun starts with music and there is always alcohol to purchase.

Each year we have a different Dragon Rally badge, this is classy and collectable and awarded along with the goody bag (historically included a unique slate coaster, miniature alcoholic drink, unique rally sticker and chocolate bar)

The venue has been held at numerous sites including:-

  • Bryn Bras Castle, Llanrug.
  • Gwrych Castle, Abergele.
  • Tyddyn Rhonwy, Llanberis.
  • The Riverside located between Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig.
  • Ty’n-y-Berth; Nant Gwynant,
  • Beddgelert; Garth Farm.
  • Rowen.
  • Twin Lakes; and Llanrwst.
  • Llyn Gwynant.
  • Outskirts of Bangor.
  • Anglesey.
